What is Hidden Blade?
Hidden Blade is a DaVinci Resolve plugin for Mac that turns long-form clips into short-form Selects. You pick a clip, set your preferences, and get a new timeline with cuts, markers, headlines, and captions ready to refine.
Who's this for?
Editors, creators, and teams who cut long podcasts, interviews, and YouTube videos into shorts inside DaVinci Resolve, and want the selects, markers, and post copy ready without leaving their timeline.
How does it work?
Three steps. Select a clip from your Media Pool. Edit preferences like aspect ratio, clip count, hooks, and subtitles. Generate a new Selects timeline with every short lined up and ready.
What do I get after I generate?
A brand-new timeline in your project. Clips are already cut, spaced with 30-second gaps between shorts, and marked so you can review, tweak, and export without rebuilding the cut by hand.
What preferences can I control?
Aspect ratio (16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 4:3), how many clips you want, hook mode, markers with headlines and captions, and optional subtitles. Dial these in before you generate so the output matches your format.
What are hooks?
Hooks are short openers pulled from later in the source and placed before the body of a short. You can add them on every clip, only where they help, or skip them entirely.
What are headlines, captions, and markers?
When markers are on, each short gets a marker with an auto headline and social caption. That gives you titles and post copy sitting on the timeline next to the cut.
Can I add subtitles?
Yes. Turn on Include subtitles in preferences and Hidden Blade prepares subtitle output alongside your Selects timeline.
What's included in the free trial?
One video once, videos up to 45 minutes long, with auto headlines and captions. No card required. Download for Mac, sign in, and start from a Media Pool clip in DaVinci Resolve.
How do the paid plans differ?

Does this work on Windows?
Not yet. The beta is Mac-only for DaVinci Resolve.
Do I need DaVinci Resolve Studio to use Hidden Blade?
Yes. Hidden Blade runs as a Resolve Workflow Integration and uses Studio features for transcription and timeline generation. The free version of DaVinci Resolve is not supported.
How do I download and install?
After you subscribe or start a free trial, sign in at hiddenblade.io/account and download the Mac DMG from there. Drag Hidden Blade into Applications, open it once to install the Resolve plugin, restart Resolve, then open Workspace → Workflow Integrations and launch Hidden Blade.
How do I subscribe or manage billing?
Choose a plan on this page to subscribe. After you pay, download the plugin and sign in with the same email. Manage billing, downloads, usage, and support anytime at hiddenblade.io/account.
